助動詞を主語の後ろへ置こう
このレッスンの役割と目標
このレッスンは4 / 10、can・will・shouldなどを含む間接疑問の語順を整える段階です。前回は疑問を作るためのdo類を外しました。今回は可能・未来・義務などの意味を持つ助動詞を消さず、主語の後ろへ移します。
目標は、疑問詞＋主語＋助動詞＋動詞の原形という並びを作れることです。
おすすめの学び方
助動詞と一般動詞を一組として扱います。主語を助動詞の前へ移し、助動詞の後ろの動詞は原形のまま保ちます。
例題：canの位置を戻す
直接疑問：How can I get to the museum?
- howを残します。
- 主語Iを置きます。
- canを主語の後ろへ置きます。
- getは原形のままです。
Could you tell me how I can get to the museum?

do類との違い
do・does・didは一般動詞の疑問を作るために加わった語なので、普通語順へ戻すと外れます。can・will・shouldは可能・未来・助言などの意味を持つため、消しません。
Where does he live?→where he livesWhere will he live?→where he will live
よくある間違い
I wonder when will the train arrive.と助動詞を主語の前へ残す間違いがあります。間接疑問内部ではwhen the train will arriveです。
また、where he can buysのように助動詞の後ろへ-sを付けません。canの後ろは動詞の原形buyです。
自分で確かめよう
確認1：I don't know what should I do.を直してください。
`I don't know what I should do.`です。確認2：Do you know when will she come?を直してください。
`Do you know when she will come?`です。確認3：Tell me where he can finds the answer.の二つの誤りを直してください。
`Tell me where he can find the answer.`です。主語heをcanの前へ置き、canの後ろを原形findにします。まとめと次の一歩
助動詞は消さず、疑問詞＋主語＋助動詞＋動詞の原形へ戻します。次はwho・what自体が主語のとき、もともと語順を動かす必要がないことを確認します。
